Lord Pugh
"A Case Study in Making More Dough Than You Deserve"

Who the Hell is Lindsey Pugh anyways? What is the "wandering routine"? How did he get roped into playing with Belsito? Well, Lindsay, who used to play in local bands The Itch and The Rhythm Rats, wandered away from ol' Sault Ste. Marie many years ago, lived for a stay in Montreal, and wound up in, of all places Indiana. Little is known of Lindsay once he left the Sault. After a quick web search, we have found that there is a Lindsay Pugh who is a stuntwoman in Hollywood, a female Lindsay who plays clarinet, one who is a famous set designer, and an other who is a member of a boys scout troupe. We are confident that none of these are "our" Lindsay. We do know that while in Indiana, he played and recorded with a blues outfit known as Southside Denny, a band that included the likes of drumming legend Billy 'Stix' Nicks....Legend has it that Indiana has a devil's crossroads of its own, and that Lindsay, being inspired by Indiana's special brand of blues, wound up selling his soul for a loaf of bread. Maybe that is why aside from being a natural storyteller and a hell of a musician, Lindsay makes more dough than the rest of the Belsito band combined. Just ask him yourself, it's true. So how did he get roped into playing with Belsito? Pity. As the story goes, Belsito was playing a one-off, unadvertised, somewhat secret gig with a fill-in drummer and no bass player when Lindsay wandered into the club. Belsito's sad and unstable performance inspired Lindsay to take pity on the songs themselves and offer his bass playing services for the betterment of all involved. And that was that. So what exactly is the wandering routine? You'll have to ask Lindsay yourself, or maybe Craig, or maybe even the owner of that store in the early eighties. Come to think of it, never you mind about the wandering routine. That's between Lindsay and his conscience. (Picture courtesy of Paul Norbo)
